hen I was halfway through graduating UNC-Wilmington with a degree in business management I decided the last thing I wanted to do was follow the herd and get a 9-5 job right out of school. I quickly decided the easiest way for me to do this was to learn how to trade stocks. Unfortunately there were no real classes about stocks in the entire school! I hit the internet hard and decided to make it my “job” to learn.

During my adventure into learning how to trade, I came across the most valuable resource I’ve ever found. I was fortunate enough to be mentored by an Analyst I met in the forums who has been doing it for 13+ years. He was taught by a former market maker. This combined with looking up terms and watching videos on my own was pretty much how I learned.

Trading stocks has been my only source of income for the past 5 years, and has allowed me the financial freedom to take 2 road trips around the country spanning a year of time. I have even traded stocks from my phone while in the middle of National Parks. It has also allowed me to volunteer countless hours of my time to those in need in many aspects of life.

I enjoy teaching others, and showing them that they too can change their life with knowledge and motivation. I love getting asked questions and talking about stocks, and look forward to getting to know you more in the chat room!

ike many before, I was drawn to the stock market and trading, as a way to get rich quick.
Obviously, it wasn’t quite that simple and I lost lots of money in my early trading career. There were lots of sleepless nights, when I realized it wasn’t going to be as easy of a journey as I initially expected. There were highs and lows along the way, where I would win big and ride on cloud 9, and then quickly become disheartened by even bigger losses. I stumbled onto Technical Analysis, and it immediately peaked my interest. Over the years I have come to learn that Technical Analysis is unbiased, takes away the emotion, and slowly the fear, as you gain confidence with more knowledge and practice. With no guidance to begin my education, it took years of self-study and practice.

When I joined the Chartguys, I really liked that it was a community of traders wanting to all learn and be successful as a group. Knowing there were many new traders I wanted to share the knowledge I had acquired through the years, as I had no guidance and know the frustration that comes with first learning. After spending time in the Chartguys community helping others, I was asked to join the group in a more substantial role.

I have grown to love the people, and helping them achieve their goals. Seeing the potential of such a powerful community, I have been absolutely honored in growing with those who are along for the journey.

have always had an interest in the stock market, being naively drawn to the idea of fast money and an early retirement. I tried to break into the world of trading several times but I was always overwhelmed with the sheer amount of information. Many costly lessons were learned while I nagivated the world of trading alone.

Fast forward to 2011: While reading through trading forums, I came across a post making grand claims about technical analysis. My interest was piqued and I sent the author a private message that sparked a friendship spanning 4 years and 5000 miles. That author was Charting ManDan

Since that time Dan and I have shared a passion for trading, technical analysis, and teaching others. Our passion is driven by an unending interest in the market and mastering the complex world of technical analysis. Beyond that, we are united by a desire to pass along the knowledge that was handed down to us.

I love trading, I love technical analysis, and I want to share it with you.
